Knowing God
So you really want to know God. What’s your next step?
Your path to God is through Jesus. Why Jesus? There was no one else like Jesus Christ. It's that simple. Jesus is more than just a man, He was God. God who came to save us from sin by paying the price of our sin when He died on the cross. God's love is that strong for us: it's so amazing, He would die for us so that we might have life.
If you want to become a follower of Jesus, we invite you to quiet your heart now, and ask Jesus to become the Lord and leader of your life.
First, begin to pray. Tell God you're sorry for turning your back on Him and not following his ways.
Second, ask Jesus to forgive you through his death on the cross.
Third, surrender control of your life to Jesus.
Fourth, thank Jesus for His mercy and pledge to follow Him into eternity. God wants to bring you new life, both now and forever.
Congratulations! You've now made the very first step in a new relationship with God. Think about it, you are now on good terms with the God of all creation. He has forgiven you, He loves you and He wants to spend each day with you. To do that, you need to do at least four things:
1. Get a good Bible and read it. We suggest the Message translation. You can find it at any Christian book store. Begin reading the Gospel of John and then read Romans.
2. Pray each day. Say thank you to God, ask God to forgive you for what you've done wrong, ask God to lead you, and tell Him everything that's happening to you. Build a real relationship with Him through scripture and prayer.
3. Get involved in Christian community. If you live near us, check out (hyperlink to map) Trinity. If not, find a church that takes sharing our faith and growing in faith seriously. Get to know other Christians and share the journey of knowing Jesus together.
4. E-mail us right now and tell us of your decision. We'll pray for you and encourage you. Contact us at info@trinitycommunity.org.
